Review

The Grandland X offers a similar blend of comfort and practicality as the Peugeot 3008 on which it’s based, but there are better all-rounders in this class

Trim: Griffin

Over SRi Nav trim, Griffin adds keyless entry, an electric tailgate than can be operated hands-free with a wave of your foot under the back bumper and some Griffin branding.

Engine: 1.2 Turbo

You might expect this petrol engine to feel underpowered given its small capacity but, in reality, it is perfectly adequate. It also averages more than 50mpg in official fuel economy tests, no matter which wheels, tyres and gearbox you choose. A 1.0-litre Skoda Karoq or Seat Ateca is punchier, let alone a 1.5, however.
