The Grandland X offers a similar blend of comfort and practicality as the Peugeot 3008 on which it’s based, but there are better all-rounders in this classget the best price
Trim: Elite Nav
Building on SRi Nav trim, you get leather seats with electrical adjustment for the driver, heated front seats and steering wheel, 19in wheels, a panoramic roof and a heated windscreen. Worth avoiding for its ride-spoiling big wheels and head room-swallowing glass roof alone.
Engine: 1.5 Turbo D
This 118bhp diesel can’t match the speed of the 1.2-litre petrol, but its solid mid-range shove pulls the Grandland X ably enough, even when it’s fully loaded. Average fuel economy is second only to the hybrid models and even then, the diesels will be more efficient than a plug-in with a flat battery.
