The Grandland is competitively priced in most trims, and is well equipped and spacious enough for most families. However, it's hard to ignore the fractionally cheaper Skoda Karoq or more practical Kia Sportage – both of which have nicer interiors and are sharper to drive. Company car drivers who are in the market for a family SUV will find the hybrid Grandland models cost-effective.

Top-of-the-range GSe is one of the first cars to come from Vauxhall’s new performance-focused sub-brand. As well as the most powerful plug-in hybrid engine, it gets all of the toys you can expect from Ultimate trim but with revised styling, upgraded suspension with Koni dampers and Alcantara sports seats.

Reserved solely for the performance-focused GSe trim, this 296bhp plug-in hybrid engine is the most powerful that Vauxhall currently offers. It gives you plenty of oomph off the line, but also comes with the benefit of offering up to 40 miles running on electricity alone.
