The VW ID 3 is a remarkably well-rounded electric car, proving decent to drive, comfortable and even nippy in Pro Guise. It’s quite expensive, though, making it hard to justify over the Tesla Model 3 or the MG4 EV Long Range.

The entry-level version gets lots of standard equipment. Highlights include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, two-zone air conditioning, wireless phone-charging, keyless start and heated windscreen washer jets.

Both versions of the ID 3 have 201bhp fed to the rear wheels, but performance depends on whether you go for the Pro or the heavier Pro S version.
