The VW ID 3 is a remarkably well-rounded electric car, proving decent to drive, comfortable and even nippy in Pro Guise. It’s quite expensive, though, making it hard to justify over the Tesla Model 3 or the MG4 EV Long Range.

Upgrading to Pro S is more about getting the larger 77kWh battery than adding equipment. You get the same kit as the Pro version but with larger 19in alloy wheels and electrically adjustable leatherette seats with adjustable lumbar support and massage.

Both versions of the ID 3 have 201bhp fed to the rear wheels, but performance depends on whether you go for the Pro or the heavier Pro S version.
