Practical for five people, luggage space is plentiful and it's good value in the lower trim levels, but in terms of interior quality and ride comfort the Touareg lags behind its rivals. It also lacks the flexibility of seven seats, all of which pushes us to recommend cars like the Audi Q7, BMW X5 and Land Rover Discovery instead for their better all-round packages.get the best price
The trimSee full equipment
This trim adds 14-way electrically adjustable front seats (with memory function), keyless entry, a 15.0in infotainment touchscreen, the 12.0in digital instrument cluster and high-beam assistance over the R-Line trim. It’s expensive and we’re not fans of the larger touchscreen.
The engineSee full engine specs
It’s certainly quick (0-62mph takes 6.1sec), mostly smooth and should return around 34mpg on a run, but the cheaper, lower-power version is more than good enough.
Stylish, refined and a seriously appealing SUV
The Land Rover Discovery is hugely capable and very desirable...
Comfy and well built but hardly exciting
The RX is comfortable and well equipped, but it's not as good...
