Audi A4 gets two new entry-level models
* 118bhp 1.8T petrol and 2.0 TD offered * Petrol to cost 20k, diesel 22k * First deliveries expected in April...
The new Audi A4 compact executive will have two new entry-level models.
Audi plans to offer toned-down versions of its turbocharged 1.8-litre petrol engine and 2.0-litre diesel engine.
That means the A4 line-up will now include a 118bhp 1.8T (as well as the 156bhp unit) and a 118bhp 2.0-litre diesel (as well as the 141bhp version).
The reasoning behind this, says Audi, is not to lower carbon dioxide emissions or company car tax, but to improve affordability.
Emissions and fuel consumption data for the new models have yet to be released, but Audi hopes to offer the new entry-level 1.8T for under 20,000 and the new diesel is expected to cost less than 22,000.
Order books for the new Audi A4 models are not yet open, but first deliveries are expected in April.
