Our cars: Mazda 6 - February
Week ending February 22
Driven this week: 400
I drove our new Mazda 6 saloon for the first time this week. We opted for the lower-powered 2.2-litre diesel model and, on first impressions, I’m looking forward to spending a year with it.
The engine is very smooth and is so quiet that half the time you wonder if it’s running. The interior is comfortable and the driving position suits my six-foot frame, helped by a widely adjustable driver’s seat.
I also like the main instrument panel. It’s not overly complicated, and the numbers hark back to the old days because they’re elegant and simple to read.
Most impressive of all, though, is the massive boot. It’ll certainly be handy over the coming year to transport everything my family can throw at it.
I’ll keep you updated.
