McLaren has released a teaser image of a new model that will make its debut at the 2012 Paris motor show later this month.

The single image reveals little detail of the new car, but it's possible to make out the lines of the bonnet, headlights and front air intakes.

No information has been released, but the new model is expected to be a range-topping supercar that will sit above the MP4-12C in the McLaren range.

Rumours suggest that the new model – which hasn't been named – will have a hybrid powertain that develops at least 800bhp.

More information about the new McLaren will be released next week.
