    My car

Having owned many cars European cars, all bar one needed work under warrenty,I decided to try a non European car. I have had two years of trouble free motoring. My Civic has less engine noise than the new model.I test drove both models before I choose the current car.

    My car

I owned the Civic Type S 5 Door for nearly 5 years, the longest I've ever kept a car but recently changed for a Mondeo 2.2 TDCi ST. I did try the Type R but it had only 3 doors and was as hard as Hannah on the road! The Type S was far more understated but had marginally less impressive figures for performance. It used much less petrol though and was a real wolf in sheep's clothing. The Civic had a tag of being "an old person's car" but I can say from experience that quite a number of young drivers, usually in Corsas with oversized wheels, exhausts and sound sytems, have been dismayed as I accelerated away from them. The space in the cabin and the boot is also amazing for it's overall size and my golfing pals referred to it as the Tardis! Honda make great cars but they have always changed the Civic model beyond recognition. Pity really

    My car

We've had our 2002 1.6 SE Executive for nearly 3 years now and it has been faultless, especially in terms of reliability. Only the annual MOT/services have been required and a re-gas of the A/C. It has loads of space inside especially in the back for passengers. The dashboard is simply laid out with all controls to hand. It has a good level of equipment and the leather seats add a touch of quality.

Its good to drive with a nice gear change, and has enough power for around town driving and cruising on the motorway. Fuel economy is good, we average about 33 mpg around town.

We use this is a second family car and for that purpose its fantastic. Only downsides are that the steering is too light at higher speeds, the engine is noisy and the cabin lets in lots of road/wind noise, and for a car labeled as an executive, the ride is too firm.
