If you’re after the full package with a sensible budget, check out the Hyundai i10. It’s relatively spacious, comes with a smart-looking interior, rides well and drives more impressively than plenty of bigger and pricier cars.

Top-spec N-Line will cost you a fair bit more than our chosen trim and doesn’t really add much in the way of equipment. Instead, your money goes largely towards the 1.0T engine and the sporty styling that you’ll find inside and out – we’re not sure it’s really worth the extra investment.
