Britax Rock-a-tot Plus Si
Colour schemes Two
Weight 3.3 kilos
The Rock-a-tot is at the budget end of the scale, but it's still nicely cushioned and padded. The carry-handle is the easiest to adjust of any we're testing here, and the only one that can be done using just one hand. All you need to do is push down on the handle to release it for adjustment. The sunshade isn't connected to the carry-handle, however, although all covers are removable so you can throw them in the wash.
Ease of operation
Seatbelt routing is straightforward in the Rock-a-tot, with the lap section going over the top of the seat. The buckles and straps are easy to use, and although there are three different heights depending on the size of your child, the straps aren't particularly easy to adjust.
This is a real bargain of a seat from a well-respected manufacturer, but you don't get many extras or colour schemes to choose from. You'll get great discounts online, but make sure you try an example in your car before you order.
It might not cost much, but, on the whole, the Rock-a-tot doesn't feel cheap. The main exception is the carry-handle, which isn't finished as smoothly as other handles tested here. The materials themselves seem to be of good quality, however, and it all feels durable and robust.
It's a simple seat for those on a budget, so don't expect ISOFIX bases or travel systems to work with the Rock-a-tot.
