It looks different to any previous Smart, but the #1 is a brilliant electric car that's nippy, smart inside, surprisingly practical and can charge more quickly than many rivals. Unless you need a big boot, it's a great buy. We reckon it's worth upgrading to the Premium trim because it adds a heat pump and other useful kit.

This adds a sportier look, with red exterior trim highlights, subtle Brabus badging and grippy suede-like material on the steering wheel and seats.

This is the most powerful version of the #1 and is available exclusively to the Brabus model. With four-wheel drive, a power output of 422bhp and 430lb ft of torque, it can do 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 112mph.
