Cars available now

With the larger battery, the Audi A6 Avant e-tron is an excellent long-distance cruiser; range, comfort and refinement all impress. As an estate, though, the BMW i5 Touring and Volkswagen ID 7 Tourer are both more practical.

The main reason you might want to upgrade to S line trim is for the sportier styling and bigger (19in) alloys, but you also get more supportive front seats and stiffer sports suspension.

The diesel is much stronger than the petrol and suits the car really well. Thanks to mild-hybrid technology, fuel economy can officially top 53mph – as long as you stick with the cheaper trim levels.
