The new Citroën C3 Aircross is easy to recommend. It offers a lot of practicality (including the option of seven seats) at a low price point, especially if you stick with the entry-level Turbo 100 model – that’s our pick of the range. Just note that some rivals are better to drive and have plusher interiors.

The trim

Max adds some luxuries like heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a wireless phone charger. It’s worth a look if you have the budget, but it’s not a must-have trim in our opinion.

This is currently the only battery and electric motor configuration available with the ë-C3 Aircross – a larger battery with more range is on its way. Its 111bhp means the ë-C3 Aircross is slow by electric car standards, plus its range of 188 miles might not suit lots of families.
