Our overall rating:Rated 4 out of 5

The Citroen C3 Picasso is a funky, compact MPV, but there’s more to it than just an eye-catching design.

It offers seating for five, a cosseting ride and secure handling. It’s also affordable and cheap to run, which more than makes up for the fact that it’s not quite as good to drive or as spacious as its main rival, the Ford B-Max.

Customers can pick from a choice of two trims. The entry-level Edition version, or more plush Platinum.

Only two engine options are available. One is a three-cylinder 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol, badged the Puretech 110, the other is a four-cylinder 1.6-litre diesel called the BlueHDi 100. Both come with a five speed manual gearbox. There’s no automatic option, though.
