The Kia EV6 is an excellent electric car with a long range and the ability to charge up very quickly. It’s also huge in the back and good to drive. Just bear in mind that cheaper rear-wheel drive versions make more financial sense than the faster four-wheel drive models.

Even the entry-level Air trim comes pretty well equipped, giving you standard kit that includes 19in alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, heated door mirrors, heated front seats with adjustable lumbar support for the driver, a heated steering wheel, vegan leather upholstery, a 12.3in touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone mirroring, cruise control, dual-zone air conditioning, rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.

Cheaper RWD models have a single 226bhp electric motor driving the rear wheels, giving performance that’s decent rather than (ahem) electric. 0-62mph officially takes 7.3 seconds and we don’t doubt that from our experience. Even so, it accelerates quite a bit slower than a Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus, if speed is your thing.
