Used Kia Optima Sportswagon 2016-present review

Alternatives
Review continues below...

What alternatives should I consider to a used Kia Optima estate?

The Skoda Superb Estate is one of our very favourite cars in this class. It offers an unbeatable mix of space and value. It’s massive inside, with a huge boot (almost) the size of Belgium. It’s also good to drive and handsomely equipped.

The Volkswagen Golf Estate is not of the same size as the Superb, or even the Optima SW, but it does offer more style and a classier package. It’s better to drive, too, and has a supple ride and well-built interior. Its boot is bigger than that of most of its directly sized competitors.

Verdict

The Kia Optima Sportswagon has plenty of passenger space and a good-sized boot, but it’s neither as comfortable nor as sharp to drive as the class best

  • Large boot
  • Plenty of passenger space
  • Well equipped
  • Poor refinement
  • Low-speed ride a bit lumpy
  • Quite dull to drive
