Entry-level Life trim is actually our pick of the bunch. That’s because it keeps costs down but still gives you a good amount of kit, which includes 15in alloy wheels, manual air conditioning, rain sensing wipers, an 8.0in touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone mirroring and an auto-dimming rear view mirror. For extra comfort, we’d advise adding the reasonably priced adjustable lumbar support.

This mid-spec trim doesn’t cost much more than our favourite Life trim but adds a couple of extra niceties, including a rear-view camera, tinted rear windows, 16in alloy wheels and wireless phone-charging.

Match

If you want your Polo to look slightly sportier, R-Line trim is for you. Coming in at around the same price as Style trim, it also adds larger 16in alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, built-in sat-nav, front and rear parking sensors, adjustable lumbar support and a 12.5in digital instrument display.
