Used Mercedes GLB 2020-present reliability
Category: Large SUV
The compact Mercedes GLB is a classy and efficient seven-seat SUV, but its ride is firm and its used prices are still quite high.

What should I look for in a used Mercedes GLB estate?
The majority of GLBs that are up for sale will still be within the Mercedes franchised dealer network and will have most probably been reconditioned to look like new before hitting the forecourt.
You shouldn't expect to see any damage under the vehicle because the GLB isn't intended to venture into the wilderness in standard form.

What are the most common problems with a used Mercedes GLB estate?
The GLB has been subject to the following recalls. Check with your local dealer that all remedial work has been done.
Recalls
The rear spoiler located above the tailgate might have been manufactured outside specifications.
The oil level in the dual-clutch transmission might not meet specifications.
On certain vehicles with a 4-cylinder Diesel engine, the crankshaft might not meet specifications.
The wheel arch covers on the front fenders might not have been mounted according to specifications.
The side spoilers at the tailgate might not have been mounted according to specifications.
The Electronic stability program (ESP) unit might be mechanically damaged.
The oil supply line for the turbocharger might leak.

Is a used Mercedes GLB estate reliable?
This GLB finished in 16th place out of 76 cars in the family SUV class in our most recent What Car? Reliability Survey. It scored an excellent 96% which placed it above nearly all its major rivals, but below the Nissan X-Trail, Skoda Kodiaq and five-seat-only Toyota RAV4.
Mercedes as a brand, though, finished in a low 22nd place out of 30 manufacturers with a score of 90.6% – a rather disappointing result. That placed it below BMW, Citroen, Honda, Kia and Lexus, among others. It did place the firm above Audi, Jaguar, Land Rover and Nissan, though.
