What is it?

The facelifted Mitsubishi ASX has been re-styled to bring it into line with the rest of the Mitsubishi range. Changes include a new front end, updated grille and chrome highlights.

What engines does the ASX come with?

A new 1.6-litre diesel engine has been added to the ASX range. It’s a 112bhp 1.6-litre unit that gets stop-start technology and will be available with both front- and four-wheel drive. Fuel economy figures haven’t been announced.

What equipment does it have?

The revised specification includes optional 18in alloy wheels, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and updated rear seats.

How much does the ASX cost?

The facelifted ASX is expected to go on sale in September, with prices similar to the outgoing car, which starts at £15,249.

What are its rivals like?

It’s biggest rival is the Nissan Qashqai, a five-star car and former What Car? Car of the Year.
