2017 Skoda Octavia 1.5 TSI EVO estate review - verdict

The 1.5 TSI Evo petrol engine is certainly our new pick of the range, and SE trim (S, SE, SE L and range-topping Lauren & Klement being the order of choice) makes the most sense.

SE adds rear parking sensors, manual driver and passenger lumbar adjustment, a front centre armrest, a multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, dual-zone climate control and rear electric windows, all for a reasonable uplift in cost over entry-level S.

And, overall, the Octavia remains one of the best estates you can buy. It doesn't have quite the interior quality or comfy low-speed ride of a Volkswagen Golf Estate, nor the better agility of a Seat Leon ST, but it beats both on outright space for passengers and their luggage.
