The Audi Q3 is now available with a 1.4 TFSI engine, which lowers the starting price for the range to £23,870.
The 148bhp petrol engine has 184lb ft of torque and is offered with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed S tronic automatic gearbox. Like the 138bhp diesel model, it’s available only as a front-wheel-drive car, and you can spec it in either SE or S line trim.
Performance claims are 0-62mph in 9.2 seconds with the manual ‘box, or 8.9 seconds if you choose the automatic. CO2 emissions are 137g/km for the manual car, which is identical to the 138bhp diesel Q3.
The 1.4 petrol doesn’t have the same 3% company car tax surcharge applied to diesel cars, and it’s now the cheapest Q3 to run as a company car. Monthly BIK costs will be around £150, which is only £10 per month more than you’d pay for our favourite Mazda CX-5.
Audi has also announced a new S line Plus specification for all Q3 quattro models, which costs around £2400 more than standard S line trim. The extra spend adds 19-inch alloys, tinted rear windows, leather and Alcantara upholstery, cruise control, park assist and sat-nav.
The new Audi Q3 1.4 TFSI and S line Plus quattro models are on sale now, and will be at dealers by the spring. The first deliveries to customers should happen in March.
