The face-lifted Scirocco may have only just appeared but we’ve found big savings on this stylish sports coupe. This deal includes a £1,500 finance deposit contribution from Volkswagen.
The Scirocco handles well, is reasonably comfortable and refined, and is well equipped.
The 2.0 TSI 180 replaces our previous favourite engine and has a good balance of power and economy. It’s available with a choice of six-speed manual or six-speed twin clutch automatic transmissions for an extra £1,500.
Even standard cars get touchscreen infotainment, DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, a six-disc CD changer, air-con, and auto lights and wipers. GT trim brings navigation and parking sensors.
Getting in to and out of the rear seats is awkward at best, although legroom is fairly acceptable. The coupe roofline eats into rear passenger headroom, meaning the rear seats are for occasional use only.
The diesels, despite their high efficiency, are a little rough and noisy, which doesn’t fit with the Scirocco’s sporty character.
Should I add any options?
Entry level cars are well equipped, so be careful with options to keep the price down. The twin clutch automatic 'box is a popular addition and you have to upgrade to GT trim to get sat-nav and parking sensors.
R-Line predominantly adds styling upgrades so only specify this package if you have to have the sportiest-looking Scirocco, otherwise it’s not worth the money.
