Deal of the Day: Fiat 500L
Save nearly £4000 on a Fiat 500L 1.6 Multijet 120 Lounge 5d...
It’s safe to say Fiat is capitalising on the 500 brand, having launched multiple bodystyles from the 500 hatch. The most practically minded of these is the 500L, which combines MPV versatility with the cute, chic styling of the 500.
Running costs are low – the 500L impressed our True MPG testers with its 54.2mpg real-world fuel economy, and although we initially criticised the high price point of the 500L, the £3787 saving we’ve found more than eliminates the premium that Fiat charges for the stylish MPV.

The cabin is both attractive and well built, although some materials used don’t have the premium feel which the original price tag ought to bring.
The 500L dwarfs its 500 namesake – it’s a proper MPV. There’s plenty of room throughout, although six-footers may struggle for head room in the rear. Well thought-out flourishes and cubbies make it more practical than its fashionable approach lets on, too.
Lounge trim is the top-spec 500L, so it comes with all mod-cons. Automatic lights and wipers, as well as a panoramic roof separates it from the lower Pop Star spec, which isn’t stingy on kit by any means.
Although it’s not as loud as the Twinair engine, the 1.6-litre diesel isn’t as quiet as it ought to be, and some vibrations still seep through to the cabin. Road and wind noise at speed are louder than you’d expect, too.
For such a fun-looking car, the 500L offers little in the way of handling or ride quality. Rivals provide a more car-like experience, and although it’s never uncomfortable, the ride is too firm at speed and around town.
Should I add any options?
The optional espresso machine is worth a mention, but it's clearly an obvious gimmick, as is the £850 two-tone paintwork option.
At this spec, the 500L is fairly comprehensively kitted, so make the most of the saving and keep it simple.
You’ll find the deal on autoebid.com, so head over, select Fiat, then ‘New Fiat 500L Deals’, and find the 500L 1.6 Multijet 120 Lounge 5d in the list.
