Electric Vauxhall Ampera in action

We've driven Vauxhall's new electric Ampera range extender vehicle, and here's the video.

Due to go on sale in 2012, the Ampera has a 40-mile battery range boosted by a small 1.4-litre petrol engine, which can generate enough electricity for another 310 miles.
