Infiniti has confirmed more details of its forthcoming M35h hybrid saloon ahead of the car's unveiling at the Paris Motor Show next week.
Combining a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine with an electric motor, the car will be the fastest-accelerating Infiniti to be sold in Europe. Exact figures are still to be confirmed, but the company says the car is expected to hit 62mph in less than 5.9 seconds, average 38.6mpg and emit less than 170g/km CO2.
Infiniti also claims that the car uses electric propulsion more often and for longer periods than existing hybrids. On electric power alone, it can run for up to 1.25 miles and is capable of cruising at up to 50mph as well as at up to 87mph on a trailing throttle.
The M35h will go on sale alongside the previously announced V6 petrol- and diesel-engined models, the M37 and M30d. It will be available with a choice of base and GT trims, and first deliveries are expected to start next spring.
Final prices and specifications of the M35h will be announced in the new year.
