17 October 2020 – Size matters
One of the main reasons I chose a pick-up truck for my latest car is its sheer size. Unfortunately, while, driving such a large car isn’t an issue in most parts of the country, on the odd occasion that I drive into Central London, a pick-up truck like my Mitsubishi L200 is less than ideal for the territory.
Thankfully, the L200 has ways to help me out in tight situations. Its light steering means that negotiating tight city streets can be done with the minimum of fuss, while the 360-degree camera and parking sensors of my car mean that even the tiny parking spaces found down many London side streets need not be off limits. Combined with a relatively small turning circle of 11.8 metres – less than the class-leading Volkswagen Amarok’s 12.9 metres – and the L200 isn’t as much of a duck out of water in the city as It could have been.
