The Nissan Ariya is practical, well-equipped and the 87kWh version has a competitive range between charges. However, plenty of rivals are better to drive and can charge up more quickly.

If you want your Ariya to come with all the bells and whistles, Evolve trim takes everything you get with Advance trim then adds a glass panoramic sunroof, adaptive high-beam assist for the headlights, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a head-up display and an upgraded Bose stereo with 10-speakers. It's very pricey, though.

This is the front-wheel-drive model with the larger 87kWh battery. It’s nearly as swift as the smaller battery pack car, and has a much longer range of up to 329 miles. We reckon it's worth the extra.
