The Murano is temptingly priced for a luxury 4x4 and limited supply ought to keep residual values strong, despite the lack of a prestige badge. Unfortunately, you'll need deep pockets to satisfy the V6 petrol engine's thirst for unleaded, and even the diesel's 35.3mpg and 210g/km CO2 emissions aren't that impressive.
Nissan Murano 4x4 quality & reliability
Nissan has clearly made an effort with the Murano's interior, because it looks smart and modern. The materials are mostly classy, too, although some of the switchgear and trim fall a little short of the standards you'd expect in a car of this price. Nissan has an excellent reliability record, so there's no reason to doubt the mechanicals.
Nissan Murano 4x4 safety & security
Like its rivals, the Murano has stability control to help keep you on the road, and there's twin front, side and curtain airbags should the worst happen. Deadlocks, an alarm and an engine immobiliser make life difficult for thieves.
