The main issue is that for similar money there are plenty of rivals that are better at being a seven-seat SUV, offering even more space and versatility.
The trim
See full equipmentN-Connecta is our recommended trim level because it gives you lots of standard equipment while not breaking the bank. Opting for this trim adds a larger touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone-charging, digital instrument dials, privacy glass and upgraded safety features. We wouldn’t recommend going any higher up the X-Trail ladder than this.
The engine
See full engine specsSo far we’ve tried the E-Power engine with E-4orce four-wheel drive, but we reckon it’s probably worth sticking with this 201bhp two-wheel drive version, which manages 0-62mph in 8.0sec.
