What should I look for in a used Skoda ELROQ estate?
When viewing a used car, always follow our used car buying checklist.
As the Skoda Elroq is still a relatively new model, there are no widely reported reliability concerns to watch out for yet. That means the usual used-car checks are especially important.
Start with the exterior. Look closely for any signs of accident damage, poor panel alignment or mismatched paint. Check the alloy wheels for kerbing and inspect the tyres for even wear – uneven tread can indicate alignment or suspension issues.
Inside, examine the interior for excessive wear. Pay particular attention to seat bolsters, upholstery and high-contact areas like the steering wheel and controls. Make sure all trim pieces are secure and free from scratches or damage.
Given that there’s quite a lot of technology inside, it’s especially important to test all electronics thoroughly. Ensure the infotainment system runs smoothly without lag or glitches, and check that features like navigation, connectivity, climate control and driver assistance systems function correctly.
On a test drive, the car should feel smooth and quiet, as expected from an electric car. Listen for any knocks, rattles or suspension noises over bumps, and make sure the steering feels precise. Braking should be consistent, including the regenerative braking system, which shouldn’t feel overly jerky or unpredictable.
Finally, don’t forget to check the battery health and charging history if available. Confirm that the car charges properly (ideally test both AC and DC charging if possible), and review any service records or software updates carried out by the manufacturer.

Is a used Skoda ELROQ estate reliable?
The Elroq is too new to have appeared in the latest What Car? Reliability Survey. However, its sibling, the Skoda Enyaq, was included. It ranked 14th out of 27 models in the electric SUV category, achieving a solid overall score of 91.3%. This put it ahead of the Audi Q4 e-tron and VW ID 4, but behind the Kia EV3, Renault Scenic and Tesla Model Y.
As a brand, Skoda finished 16th out of 30 manufacturers in the survey, with a score of 92.9%. This placed it above Ford, MG and Volkswagen, but below Kia and Tesla.
