Is a used Vauxhall Corsa-e hatchback reliable?

The Vauxhall Corsa-e is subpar for reliability. In our 2023 What Car? Reliability Survey, it came finished in 15th place out of 20 cars in the electric car class.

Most examples of the Corsa-e (also known as the Corsa Electric) in our survey were pretty dependable; owners told us only 7% of their cars went wrong. However, 58% of cars were rendered undriveable by their faults, and 44% of them sat in the workshop for more than a week. There were issues with the battery, bodywork, brakes, motor and various electrical systems. The only redeeming feature is that Vauxhall covered the cost of all repairs.

As a car brand, Vauxhall ranked 30th out of 32 brands – so above Alfa Romeo and Cupra but below the likes of Ford, Hyundai and VW – which is a poor result.
