BMW 1 Series editions revealed

BMW has launched new editions of its 1 Series Coupe and Convertible, and a new M Sport package for the hatchback.
Edition Exclusive
This new trim for the 1 Series Coupe and 1 Series Convertible brings visual tweaks such as window surrounds in a chrome or high-gloss finish.
There's also a range of 16-, 17-, and 18-inch alloys available depending on engine size, while buyers get the choice of exclusive Mineral Grey metallic paint, or any of the car's five standard colours. Chrome exhaust covers and front grille slats round off the styling enhancements.
Inside, the seats are finished in either Pearl Grey with grey contrast stitching, or black with white stitching. There are also door sill covers with BMW Edition lettering and interior strips in aluminium or an optional wood finish. The Edition Exclusive also gets a unique sports steering wheel with chrome trim.
Edition Sport
This 1 Series Coupe and 1 Series Convertible trim brings an M bodykit in exclusive Carbon Black metallic paint, along with double-spoke 17- or 18-inch M alloy wheels.
Other enhancements include window surrounds high-gloss or chrome, and exterior mirrors finished in black. The Edition Sport also gets chrome exhaust covers, high-gloss kidney grille bars and darkened rear lights.
The cabin gets sports seats, leather-trimmed M steering wheel, stainless steel pedals and an aluminium M footrest. The M gearlever and handbrake handle are finished in embossed soft nappa leather. The car's seats and door trim are finished in Flashpoint Black, or optional black leather.
M Sports package
From spring 2012 this trim will be available for the new 1 Series hatchback. This brings M Sports suspension, which is firmer and lowered by 10 millimetres over the standard set-up.
There are bespoke front and rear bumpers for a sportier look, and 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels. Interior upgrades include sports seats, leather-trimmed M steering wheel, M gearlever and aluminium footrest.
The new editions will be available from the spring.
