I bought into the Porsche brand because I trusted it thinking that the new Hybrid Technology would perform as well as my previous 3 Porsche's, which were all excellent. Sadly my experience with the Hybrid since July has been a disaster, due to repetitive electronic failures which have rendered the car immobile. The dealer has been unable to rectify the fault. My whole experience with the dealer has left me greatly disappointed with the standards of Porsche customer care which have been abysmal.
Porsche clearly have not got a handle of this technology. My advice to any prospective buyer is to steer clear of the Hybrid at all cost.
I had the pleasure of test driving the 3.0 litre Diesel and I must say this new model was quiet a surprise to find it was very refined, smooth, had good range of performance and all for 195Kg CO2 and a 38 mpg + fuel economy, not bad. This car looks dare I say more compact but its actually larger then the last model. The interior is classy and can easily challenge the materials, fit and finish of my Range Rover. The interior was lot more spacious than Range Rover Sport, but no less appealing to be in behind the wheel. The porsche binical is magic, and the nice grippy small steering wheel with quick steering a welcome change to the Range Rover offerings. Will be off having a really good 24 hour test drive next week, looking forward to it.
