    My car

I have a 2003 Range Rover TD6 Vogue, and the car has been a nightmare.

It has covered only 31,000 miles, and in that time has had transmission failure three times (including one replacement transmission), a new turbo, two new vehicle management ECMs, replacement front driveshafts (it was giving heavy vibration through the steering) and every time the external temperature drops below +3 degrees celcius, the onboard display fails to boot up (so no audio, telephone, or cabin pre-heat).

Land Rover has been totally useless at helping the dealer resolve the issues - either directly or when I have contacted them direct. I bought the car to use when I am in Switzerland - it has been rescued from the mountains four times and I now have no confidence in the vehicle - it was obviously designed for Solihull or London where it is warm and flat.

    My car

I have just collected my new TDV8 Vogue, an exchange for my previous 2004 4.4 V8.

So far all I can say is that this car is the best version of the Range Rover I've driven to date, combining the effortless performance of the Supercharged version with something approaching acceptable fuel consumption.

The interior tweaks over the old model work well. Let's just hope the build quality and reliability stack up.

    My car

I did a review shortly after getting my Range Rover last year and feel an update is due. I have today had the car in for an oil service and inspection which was collected from and delivered back to me by my local dealer (Barretts) after now reaching 16,200 miles.

The car has exceeded all my expectations. It is a real treat to drive every day. It is all I have ever wanted and a good deal more. I love it. P.S. Friends have X5,Toureg Etc.... Not a patch. Range Rover is the daddy.

    My car

DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL CAR!

I spend £65K on this car (it was 4 months old), and it broke down 3 times in the first 8 weeks of owning it (twice gearbox, once engine). The 'Land Rover Assist' hotline offers little if any meainingful support, and the manufacturer states in writing that 'they are not accountable (responsible) for the quality of the vehicle'. Now in legal wrangle.

The car is lovely to look at, and very comfortable, but when you are driving at 70 miles an hout and warning lights come on and the gearbox locks in 4th gear, or the engine packs it in, it is not a good experience! Couple this with any lack of real assisence and you are really left wondering 'why was I so stupid in spending £65K, when I would have recieved better support from Vauxhall'!

I have now been without the car for 11 weeks - it is sitting at the Fanchise dealers as I refuse to pick it up! Even the tow truck driver laughed at me for buying the car - his exact words 'I am always picking Range Rovers up - really unreliable!'

Please, do yourself a favour DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Chances are you might get a good one, but to spend £65K and have a car you have absolutely have no faith in or confidence in driving is a nasty expereince. Especially when the manufacturer and dealer network dodge and weave to get out of helping you!

Most disappointing car I have ever owned!
