Had this vehicle for nearly 3 years on mobility.counting days to change over date .I would never have another one of these cars or recommend it or renault to another driver. the least of the dislikes is the poor mpg 25 to the gallon no thank you
55-plate, deep red. Reading about all the problems other drivers have had with their Scenics makes me feel guilty - I haven't had any. Admittedly, I haven't done many miles (27,000 in 3 years), but the car has never let me down. I had a puncture once, but that's hardly the car's fault. Driving is fine on B roads or motorways. I can hurtle along at 80 or tootle at 40 and there's no drama at all. Economy is amazing and has got more amazing as the mileage has increased. I used to get 57-ish as an indicated average, but over the past year this has crept up and over the 60 mark. Again, I will admit to driving in 'economy' mode these days, but it's still superb mpg. Either that or the computer is fibbing. Cabin is spacious and comfortable, but originally I had thought that all those storage spaces would be useful, whereas in three years I have hardly used them at all. Oh, cup holders are too small for many bottles and too shallow - drinks topple over while cornering. Big deal, eh? Gripes? Squeaking of front brakes until the discs get warm. I have been told this is due to glazing, and might be caused by low usage. Other problems? None. Would I buy another? No. I didn't use the space or rear seats etc anything like as much as I expected and will probably downsize to a two/three-door something or other.
My car is eight months old and I find it very spacious and good to drive. It is highy rated by my family.
However, the construction of the driver's seat has puzzled me. The metal frame on the back rest of the seat has worn a hole in the material. My contact with the dealers has been very unsatisfactory.
This is the first time this has ever happened to me and I think it is a design fault in the seat. Customer services at Renault were no help. What do I do?
i bought my new scenic and the following problems have happened,
1.dead battery twice 2.sunroof wouldnt open 3.all electric windows failing 4.losing power frequently 5.overheating very quickly when towing a trailor in hot sun 6.exhaust breaking and falling off 7.and(what a suprise) ignition coil having to be replaced 3 times
the list goes on and on and i definatly wont buy another renault
