Ford Focus 2.3 EcoBoost ST [Track Pack] 5dr Review
Category: Family car

The model
Read full reviewOne of the best driver’s cars in the class, with truly entertaining handling if you go for ST-Line trim. It has sharp dynamics, a good ride, quiet cruising manners and lots of passenger space. The iffy interior quality, reduced ease of use for the climate controls, and slightly lacklustre performance are the main areas that mark it down.
The trim
See full equipmentThis is the only trim level available for the hottest Focus in the range, and it comes fully loaded with kit.
The engine
See full engine specsThe Focus ST is fast enough to live with the Hyundai i30 N but the Honda Civic Type R and Toyota GR Yaris are in a different league. The engine doesn't rev out cleanly, either, and its augmented note sounds a bit contrived, although there are smile-inducing fireworks from the exhaust. The six-speed manual gearbox is a delight to use but the optional seven-speed auto is unresponsive and dulling. It's not that economical relatively, and the auto makes that worse, too.
