Used Ford Mustang Convertible 2015-present reliability

This is a very long car with a huge bonnet and sporty-ish driving position that means seeing the corners of the car properly can be difficult. Rear visibility is limited by the folding hood so it’s worth checking the bodywork carefully for scuffs and dents, and the alloy wheels for any damage caused by kerbs moving out to connect with them unexpectedly.

Check all the electrical equipment on board works as it should, including the sat-nav, infotainment and seats. The Mustang Convertible is a relatively new car so reported problems with this generation are few. It’s also a car known for its durability. Most reported problems centre around non-engine electrics failing, which is why it’s always advisable to check these carefully before buying. Some owners have had minor issues with poor paintwork, too. The engines and ancillary parts are complex and expensive to repair if they go wrong so again we’d advise taking an independent expert with you when looking at used Mustangs.
