There isn't anything specific to the HR-V to look out for yet. Euro NCAP awarded the HR-V four stars out of five when it was tested for safety. It scored fairly well for adult occupants but didn’t do so well at protecting child occupants in the side barrier impact test. Honda fits a good amount of important safety kit to every version of the HR-V, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistance and adaptive cruise control.

Is a used Honda HR-V hatchback reliable?
The Honda HR-V finished in 10th place out of 52 cars in the small SUV class in our most recent What Car? Reliability Survey with a good overall score of 95.9%. This placed it above the Ford Puma, Renault Captur and Skoda Kamiq, but below the Audi Q2, the Fiat 500X and the Volkswagen T-Roc.
As a brand, Honda placed fourth out of 31 manufacturers featured with an overall score of 96.6%. This placed it above Audi, BMW, Fiat, Peugeot and Volkswagen, but below Mini and Suzuki.
