What should I look for in a used Hyundai Santa Fe 4x4?
This is a large car so check all corners carefully for any scuffs and dents picked up in tight supermarket car parks. Check that all the seats slide and fold as they should, and that all the electrical equipment works.
There are no specific areas of concern with regard to major problems with this latest model, but the majority of reported problems for the older model stemmed from non-engine electrics, with some minor issues relating to the sat-nav and the infotainment system generally. However, most of those problems were fixed under warranty and within a week of first appearing.
Hyundai as a brand finished in ninth place in our most recent reliability survey, with the old model Santa Fe finishing mid-way down the table in the large SUV class.
