The model
Read full Mazda CX-60 reviewThe entry-level diesel CX-60 in particular is a competitively priced large SUV that handles well and offers low running costs with a plush interior, which is slightly compromised by a firm low-speed ride and slightly disappointing noise levels. Avoid the disappointing plug-in model – there are numerous rivals with longer electric ranges and lower tax ratings.
The trim
See full equipmentThe sportier mid-range model adds larger 20in wheels, body-coloured wheelarches and a gloss-black front grille. Inside, it adds ambient lighting, electrically adjustable front seats that are heated and ventilated, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.
The engine
See full engine specsThe CX-60 combines a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor to produce 323bhp. Power is sent to all four wheels and an eight speed automatic gearbox. This is good for a 0-62mph time of 5.8sec. It's far from the cheapest plug-in hybrid for company car tax, though, and it's too expensive to recommend for private buyers.
