Buy an SLK now, run it for three years and you'll get two-thirds of your outlay back. Intervening running costs aren't cheap, especially insurance, but fuel returns are reasonable except on the V6s. Company users will pay high rates of tax.
Mercedes-Benz SLK quality & reliability
You've only got to look at the attention lavished on the folding hood mechanism to see how well engineered the SLK is. Everything about it feels the same, from the rugged mechanicals to the interior trim, now improved with aluminium-effect dash panels. Thirty-year breakdown cover and a three-year warranty are provided.
Mercedes-Benz SLK safety & security
As with all Benzes, the absence of deadlocks is the major omission. Mercedes doesn't believe in them, arguing that they could hamper rescuers in an emergency, but without them the job of thieves is easier. There are no shortcomings in both active and passive safety equipment, though.
