A three-door version of the Mazda 2 supermini is set to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show on March 4.
It's the first time Mazda has offered a three-door option on its popular supermini, and it should get plenty of attention thanks to its sporty looks and, Mazda says, a lower price tag.
Mazda hasn't released prices for the car, but we expect them to be around 500 less than the five-door car.
Overall dimensions are identical to those of the five-door, as is weight (give or take a few kilos).
Power comes from the same engines as the five-door car - a 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre petrol, and a frugal 1.4-litre turbodiesel - and a hot turbocharged MPS version will follow.
The 2 isn't the only new Mazda at Geneva, though. The Taiki concept car - powered by a next-generation rotary engine - will also be one of the stars of the show.
An upgraded RX-8 coupe and a hydrogen hybrid version of the Mazda 5 MPV will also make their European debuts.
