Genesis GV70 2.5 Turbo Luxury (Nappa Leather Pack)

Car of the Year Awards logo - MotorEasy

We’d usually look to one of the premium German brands for a worthwhile step up in interior quality compared with the Kia Sportage, but this year they’ve all been made to look a bit ordinary by the Genesis GV70.

It’s nothing short of gorgeous inside, especially when equipped with the Nappa Leather Pack, which layers most surfaces with soft hide (quilted on the seats). There are several two-tone colour combinations to choose from, each of which gives the interior a ‘junior Bentley’ ambience. The resulting richness makes the interiors of rivals such as the Audi Q5 and BMW X3 seem rather dull.

The GV70 is also roomy and user-friendly, with proper knobs and buttons and, best of all, a rotary controller for infotainment commands. You could easily mistake this for a full-on luxury model, and that’s very impressive for a sub-£50k car.
