The Dodge Journey will go on sale this August from 16,995.

The car, which replaces the Chrysler Voyager, is powered by a 167bhp 2.4-litre petrol or 137bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine.

The petrol unit averages 32.1mpg, while the diesel records 43.5mpg with a six-speed automatic gearbox or 40.4mpg with a semi-automatic gearbox.

It is described as a 5+2 seater, meaning the rear two seats are for occasional use only.

Features include second-row seats that tilt and slide, rear doors that open up to 90 degrees and air-conditioning that works in all three rows of seats.

Standard equipment will include three-zone climate control, a fully adjustable steering wheel, a tyre-pressure monitor, folding and heated door mirrors, electric windows and a six-disc CD player with MP3 compatibility.
