New Honda E vs Peugeot e-208: verdict

Tempted by the cute retro looks of the Honda E? That’s understandable. But does it have the substance to match one of our favourite small electric cars, the Peugeot e-208?...

Our verdict

So, does the Honda E have enough substance to back up its stylish looks? In many ways it does. Not only is it well equipped, but it also has a great interior, is nippy around town and is impressively refined. However, with such a short range, you’ll have to be committed to the idea of using it as a short-range commuter car before considering it seriously.

The Peugeot e-208, meanwhile, really could be your only car. It may not be quite as nippy and manoeuvrable around town, but it counters with five seats, a much larger boot, a longer range and the benefit of faster charging. Put simply, the Honda E might look like the future, but the e-208 shows that the future is already here.
