New Kia Niro EV vs Kia Soul EV: verdict

Historically, Kia’s electric Niro has always overshadowed its Soul sister. Is now the time for the underdog to fight back? We find out...

NEW Kia Niro EV vs Kia Soul EV rear twin

Our verdict

Given that each of these cars gives you enough range for a long journey without necessarily having to stop to charge along the way, they’re both easy to live with. In the end, though, the new Kia Niro EV manages to edge ahead, because it’s slightly better in several important areas, including interior space, practicality and comfort, as well as because it will cost you less to buy and own.

Don’t get us wrong: the extra standard equipment and plusher interior that you get with the Kia Soul EV are certainly nice to have, but they aren’t quite enough to justify the higher price tag. As a slightly stronger allrounder, the Niro wins this family feud.
