New Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder
* Powered by 552bhp 5.2-litre V10 * 53bhp and 20kg lighter than before * Lower CO2 emissions, 160,000 price tag...
This is the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder.
Powered by the same 552bhp 5.2-litre V10 as its recently uprated coupe counterpart, the new car is 53bhp more powerful than the previous version and 20kg lighter.
The Lamborghini travels from 0-124mph in 12.1sec and, even with the electrically-folding fabric roof down, has a top speed of 202mph.
The PP560-4 Spyder car emits 18% less carbon dioxide on average than its predecessor although emissions of 330g/km are unlikely to impress many environmentalists.
The open-top LP 560-4 benefits from the same revised four-wheel drive system as the hard-top model, while the chassis has been stiffened for improved handling. A redesigned nose also enhances the aerodynamic properties.
Prices are expected to start from 160,000 when the car goes on sale early next year.
