Production Honda NSX to debut at Goodwood

The production version of the Honda NSX is set to be revealed to the public for the first time at this year's Goodwood motor show.

The eagerly-anticipated Japanese supercar will make its debut at Goodwood's Moving Motor Show on Thursday 26 June.

Although the NSX has been shown in concept form on several occasions, this is the first time that the finished car will be revealed. It is due to go on sale in 2015, with the first cars going to North America. European cars will then go on sale shortly afterwards.

The 2015 NSX is due to featurea  petrol-electric hybrid powertrain, and will be aiming at the likes of the Ferrari 458 in terms of performance. However, it is expected to be closer to the more affordable Audi R8 in terms of pricing.

There is also set to be a convertible version of the NSX in the future, with the car's dead of development, Ted Klaus, telling What Car? at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show: ''I think we would be foolish to develop NSX without open-top intentions down the road. Should you do a convertible first, should you do a higher performance version first – these are challenges for us to consider.'
